It’s New Year’s Eve tomorrow, and I was searching for some fun pictures of fun champagne jello shots to make. You can find a ton of pictures here for yourself. I was going to link them all to recipes but many of them didn’t have them unfortunately.

Luckily if you find one recipe that will tell you the proportions for making the jello shots well with champagne you’ll be able to duplicate it across all of the recipes.

If you found this post interesting also check out my post on jello shots for college students and 4th of July jello shots!

Found this video on Laughing Squid and thought it was real at first. Turns out it’s not, and my dreams of walking around in a bioluminescent forest like the one in the movie avatar have been destroyed forever.

Instead of focusing on real problems I think that scientists really need to figure out how to make this happen.

SLIDE-5-Generate-It

I just posted a nice little mockup of a re-imagined HubSpot UI, and while continuing to dig through my Google drive I found this mockup of a signature line generator I proposed to HubSpot before starting. It’s very much based on my XebiaLabs signature line generator, and you can definitely see some UI parallels between these mockups and the aforementioned UI concept.

Here is a nice set of mockups I did before starting at HubSpot for the short month that I was there. I just found these decomposing in my Google Drive. I thought I’d toss them up here as a nice little design / mockup piece.

I designed these before ever getting to HubSpot, and they are a representation of how I wanted to app to work for me.

The siedebar navigation is a reorganization of the current top navigation based on my most used and accessed navigational elements.

The new top bar prioritizes the education and community element, and the full page layout provides more space for the abundant content available in the app.

The palette conforms more to the front end design elements currently on the main website instead of the worn out bootstrap elements pervasive throughout the app.

America Is Not the Greatest Country In the World Anymore

I have no idea what TV show this is right now, but I’m definitely going to look it up, and maybe watch a couple of episodes. The dialogue is a little dramatic, but the message is definitely there, and I thought it was a nice contentious “fuck you” to the people who still claim this is the greatest country in the world.

Aaron Draplin, an Oregon-based graphic designer and owner of Draplin Design Co. recently took part in a logo design challenge issued by lynda.com. He walks through what it might take to design a professional logo from scratch in 15 minutes. While he makes it look easy, I’ve personally struggle with the same thing for hours, days, and weeks.

Drapling has clearly been doing this a while, and it shows in this video.
